17 Dec The 30th Holocaust Education Seminar at the Yad Vashem Institute
The 30th Holocaust Education seminar took place at the Yad Vashem Holocaust Martyrs’ and Heroes’ Remembrance Institute from 5 to 13 February 2017, this time for teachers from the Wielkopolska (Greater Poland) region.
The participants of the seminar visited the New Historical Museum at the Yad Vashem campus and Mount Herzl, and took part in lectures, workshops and discussions. The teachers had the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the resources of the Yad Vashem Institute, including those available online, such as survivors’ testimonies, films, documents, publications and educational materials for children and teenagers.
The seminar was a part of the programme Preserving the Memory. The History and Culture of Two Nations and was co-organised by the Centre for Education Development from Warsaw and the Yad Vashem Institute from Jerusalem.
Such seminars are organised regularly and their aim is to educate the participants about the Holocaust, its causes and consequences, as well as equip them with didactic tools. The seminars are aimed at educators from various regions of Poland who want to enlarge their knowledge in the field and be able to pass this knowledge to their students.
