17 Dec Israeli youth in the oldest Warsaw high school
Israeli high school students from the Ben Gurion High School in Petah Tikva visited the Warsaw Queen Jadwiga 10th High School on 16 November 2016.
The Warsaw school was founded by Jadwiga Sikorska in 1874 and it educated many girls from Polish Jewish families.
The meeting lasted for 3 hours. The Polish students presented the history of their school and a short film about Stefania Wilczyńska, a graduate of the school, who ran a Jewish orphanage with Janusz Korczak and died with him and the orphanage children in the Treblinka Extermination Camp.
The students from both schools also spent time in integration classes and group discussions. The meeting came to a close with a dance workshop.
